lilac_angel
Well, okay... The Office isn't bad. I've never seen Scrubs.. I admit to not watching a lot of TV period so I guess I can't make the best judgments on American sitcoms. I must say though that I've been pretty impressed with the Black Books BBC series.. not that I'm British... but the show was funny & didn't have much of anything that promoted the usual stereotypes & wasn't that morally offensive, unless you're someone who thinks the occassional drink is evil That would probably get a true PG-13 rating instead of today's PG-13. Unless alcohol is allowed in PG movies now... Edited June 9, 2008 by lilac_angel

Did you ever see the original British Office, where the idea stemmed from? I saw a few of the British ones... but not enough to make a decent comparison as to which was funnier. lilac_angel
I agree; he was a funny boss. At first I thought that I was being gypped by the American boss in comparison, but I guess he started to grow on me as time went on.

lilac_angel
Though I am against movies making fun of the mentally handicapped, I feel that they respected him enough by making his character and statements absolutely hilarious. They made fun of everyone in that movie fairly equally, anyway. Ron Burgundy: Boy, that escalated quickly... I mean, that really got out of hand fast. Champ Kind: It jumped up a notch. Ron Burgundy: It did, didn't it? Brick Tamland: Yeah, I stabbed a man in the heart.

That's pretty taboo these days....most people revile such humor once they pass 3rd or 4th grade.
lilac_angel
Seriously. But I thought I thought people were more into that kind of humor these days from pop culture, overhearing things in public, etc... Oh, and on the Brick topic, I just act weird sometimes, so maybe in some strange way I felt I could relate to Brick. lol...he was so random.
