Fox News = Biased, Msnbc/cnn Not?

Why is Fox News always criticized for being biased (to the Right) and a joke as a news agency, while you have [mod]Language. --Era Might[/mod] Chris Matthews and Keith Olbermann (who is annoying as hell) as being fair? They always bash the Right, yet somehow MSNBC and CNN are deemed 'fair' while Fox News isn't?

My theory: Since the majority of the media news outlets have either a strong or slightly Left biased, thus making it seem 'normal' and thus 'fair' to the overall standard, anything that is more close to the Center or to the Right of the political spectrum is deemed abnormal, unfair, and biased.

I watch Fox News and feel that I need to take adderall after it.

They create so much hype out of some situations. Or the report and then repeat that same report like 50 times in the same hyped way. And most of the time it is over something not worth hyping over.

CNN is not fair. I remember when Bush was elected and we were watching his parade. It was so depressing. All CNN was doing was showing the protesting signs.

I think your theory is pretty good to me though.

I can understand your analysis actually. All news media is biased in one form or another, but I find it hypocritical that you have some of these punk kids in college who think they know everything, going about how Fox News is evil and biased, while failing to see they're being spoon-fed by their own liberal news sources.

Fox News is biased.

MSNBC is biased.

CNN is biased.

But out of the three, guess who has the highest ratings? Fox News. The market is flooded with major liberal news outlets, so people are refreshed that there is a major conservative news outlet to tune into.

(I tend to watch Fox News, but I always browse MSNBC.com for national news. Weird huh?)

Yeah that is a little weird.
I get my news from google mostly or the radio or my dad. Stephen Cobert I think does an awesome job presenting the most recent events in the country in an unbiased, fair, no spin way.

I love watching The O Reilly Factor, because I love how he openly proclaims he is Catholic. I think it is a very good show. I laugh everytime I watch it.

I think Keith Olberman is tied with Bill O'Reilly for the "biggest jackass on a 24 hour news network" award.

People bash FOX news because they are the most outrageous. MSNBC is biased but not quite as outrageous in their actual news reporting as FOX is. I stopped watching FOX because they invited a guest on and then one of the male news anchors on FOX kept talking over the guest and interrupting and yelling over them and never letting them get a word in at all. I thought it was ridiculous and unprofessional, but when I bring it up now with people they look at me like I shouldn't be surprised, cause it's FOX.

I don't watch CNN. I "listen" to MSNBC when parents watch it. Yesterday they had this really dumb cop on there that was talking about a 1 year old "helping mom drive" and talking about it like the 1 year old was steering, when obviously the mom was probably steering and the kid was probably holding onto the steering wheel. (Yes, I realize this is still illegal and dangerous, but the fact that he kept saying the 1 year old was driving made me want to smack him in the face.)

I prefer CSPAN.

Are you talking about the same O'Reily factor I'm familiar with? I laugh at Bill O'Reily, but not because he is funny.

If by hilarious you mean so frighteningly annoying and crazy that you have to laugh.

No, I get his sense of humor, I think it is funny.

Maybe?

Most of the topics he brings up though, he does have a point...

Bill O' Reily sexually harassed a co-worker, consistently lies, and tells people he invites to speak to shut-up. I have no respect for him.
