Forgiveness

Just a quick question.

I realize this is a loaded question. And I realize that the Catholic Church probably doesn't disagree with me. But I just want to make a point to all the Catholics who say no, absolutely not.

Are those in hell forgiven or are they not?

Those in Hell have rejected God's forgiveness and all mercy that God showed them.

key word: rejected

1033

To die in mortal sin without repenting and accepting God's merciful love means remaining seperated from him for ever by our own free choice.

That is a really good question, one I have never thought about before.

You have no idea how many times I get that from honest Catholics. All they know is that we have to be good enough and then maybe God will forgive us.

Granted, on a theological level the Church may not be wrong in this area, but on a practical level, her children are not being led to the basics! God loves and has forgiven us! Nothing we ever do can change this fact!

tina. I want you to say either yes or no definitively that they are or are not forgiven. I know it may not sound like a big deal, but it possibly shows a lot that you didn't answer directly.

Flowery and Tina are correct. God forgives us, if we reject Him we go to hell. God is infinately loving and merciful so of course He forgives.

Just because she didn't use the yes or no answer you want doesn't mean she didn't give you an answer thats 100% on the mark.
