Once the "consequence" (Sad way to refer to a human.) is conceived, the unborn child should be as wanted as much as the action that lead up to the conception. The mindset should be the two are inextricably linked.

I sent an email to Fr. Pfleger, a very mellow heart felt email, and told him that as zealous as he is in his causes, showing the nation that he supports the biggest proabortion candidate that has ever lived, is hurting the Church. He has hurt its members and he made me cry and he showed this in a church not of his faith. It really has saddened me.

You have to be kidding. I can't finish an eight ounce steak. Course I eat tenderloin, not rib eye. It seems meatier.

I would be surprised if you do. He seems to make sure you know the threatening letters, but not the others. Fr. Michael Pfleger needs our prayers and some serious lengthy retreat time.

His claims of America is raping black Americans is absurd. "Racism is America's greatest addiction. I also believe America is the greatest sin against God." Really? <_< "[Racism] is as natural as the air we breathe." :annoyed:

We are to spread the light of Christ. I don't see that with the padre. I hear a dark and disturbed soul. It's time for sabbatical and then a long overdue parish re-assignment.

In light of recent political controversy involving Fr Michael Pfleger of St Sabina's in Chicago, within the hour the city's archbishop Cardinal Francis George released the following statement:

To put recent events in some perspective, I have asked Father Michael Pfleger, Pastor of St. Sabina’s Parish, to step back from his obligations there and take leave for a couple of weeks from his pastoral duties, effective today. Fr. Pfleger does not believe this to be the right step at this time. While respecting his disagreement, I have nevertheless asked him to use this opportunity to reflect on his recent statements and actions in the light of the Church’s regulations for all Catholic priests. I hope that this period will also be a time away from the public spotlight and for rest and attention to family concerns.

I hope also that the life of St. Sabina’s parish may continue in uninterrupted fashion. Fr. William Vanecko, Pastor of St. Kilian’s parish, will be temporary administrator of St. Sabina’s and will assure the full complement of ministerial services during this period. I ask the members of St. Sabina’s parish to cooperate with him and to keep him and Fr. Pfleger in their prayers. They are in mine.

After apologizing for the offense caused by his Trinity sermon (fullvideo) during Sunday's Mass at the parish, Pfleger launched into another sermon (audio) saying that if YouTube existed at the time of the crucifixion, it'd ignore the resurrection.

The Trib's Manya Brachear notes that the temporary removal came after the firebrand priest, long a beloved activist in the city's African-American community, was returned to the defensive after more of the first set of comments emerged in which he declared that "America is the greatest sin against God."

In a response yesterday, Pfleger said that in making he remark, he "inadvertently inserted the word ‘America’ in the wrong place and was not even aware of it until" conservative bloggers had pointed it out.

I just had a 20 ounce a few weeks ago. It melted in my mouth... (and went straight into my arteries)

I caught the last of a news commentary on this priest this morning. The person being interviewed said that this priest has been a thorn in the side of his bishop for awhile. It sounds like he needs a lesson on obedience.

Cardinal George is temporarily removing Father Michael Pfleger from his position as pastor of St. Sabina Roman Catholic Church on Chicago's South Side.

Amen

Incredible. Fr. Pfleger, fighter to the end. Padre, it's not YOUR church to represent it the way you feel like. It's our church.

I heard his comment about America. A majority of his audience was thankfully taken aback. He realized his statement was over the top at that time. He then tried to use the Great Commandment and racism to crawl his way out. Yea Fr. Pfleger, it was the conservative bloggers' fault.

The Church leadership in America take a lot of arrows. Here is a big kudo to Cardinal George. The two weeks should be a lead into at least a year long retreat into the silence of a mountain monastery. Get far away from the noise and do some deep meditation and prayer.

I am very happy to hear that Fr. will be taking some time off. I have been reading up on him and I am worried that maybe all of his social activism has shifted from being about social justice to being about him. He has elevated himself about the Church and he is not an effective Priest when he does that.
I will pray for him though. I doubt if I will get a response. I wonder if he will even understand my concern about a Priest supporting a proabortion candidate.

if you used the term 'pro-abortion', I doubt you'll get a good response at all...
