Seeing as how this Sunday is Corpus Christi, I decided to make a wallpaper background.......enjoy!


(i may do some editing, i'm not sure yet......if i do, i'll post the update)

Thanks for the wall paper, I use a picture of our parish's tabernacal(sp?), I also use it as a wall paper on my cell phone.

Thursday after Trinity Sunday but transferred to a Sunday in some countries such as the US and Australia to name a few

Can we (in the US) still observe Corpus Christi on Thursday as well (such as, going to daily Mass or more prayer time)?

Because it's just too much to expect people to go to Mass more than once a week! :-x

You can definitely observe it, though th solemnity is not officially recognized on Thursday as far as I understand it. If you go to Mass on Thursday there won't be any mention of it being the feast of Corpus Christi. In order to observe the feast with the Church in the US, you have to do so on Sunday.

Is that why they move those things? That is not right. It always confuses me in the office too. I love going to Mass every day. It is like it is always your birthday.

That's the explanation I've heard from the pulpit. And I can't think of any other excuse for not actually observing a feast day on its actual day. Like Ascension Thursday Sunday... that just doesn't really jive.
I hope Pontifex or Cappie will correct if this is wrong though.
