Madame Vengier
+J.M.J.+ Here's a good piece from Jill Stanek. She has written a lot about Obama's support of this heinous act. if obama can't be trusted with just born babies, how can he be trusted at all?
That link is great. I'm glad to have it. I hope people will read that and give careful consideration to what is being said there. For example, these two paragraphs from the first part of the post: Number one, whenever we define a previable fetus as a person that is protected by the equal protection clause or the other elements in the Constitution, what we're really saying is, in fact, that they are persons that are entitled to the kinds of protections that would be provided to a - child, a nine-month-old - child that was delivered to term. That determination then, essentially, if it was accepted by a court, would forbid abortions to take place. I mean, it - it would essentially bar abortions, because the equal protection clause does not allow somebody to kill a child, and if this is a child, then this would be an antiabortion statute. For that purpose, I think it would probably be found unconstitutional. What we are seeing there is Obama using words like "child", "kill", "person", "entitled" and "equal protection" as if they are statements of fact. What he is saying (people need to REALLY understand this is not the usual pro-choice "it's just a blob of cells" or "can't survive on its own" defense for abortion) is that if this ban was instituted then the law would have to give equal protection to this child who is entitled to all the same rights as any other person. Obama is FULLY acknowledging the person-hood of the viable child and that the ban would forbid the killing of it. Yet he VOTES AGAINST THE BAN ANYWAY. This is so heinous and so barbaric that even your average run-of-the-mill abortion rights advocate would shudder. It is the admission of life and of rights and of equal protection but choosing to kill ANYWAY.
