So what is your meal of choice if you're abstaining from meat?

And a bit of a warning to those looking for meatless meals on Friday (and Ash Wed.):

Stay away from Campbell's Cream of Broccoli Soup (and Soup-at-Hand), as it contains chicken broth.

My husband and I usually abstain all year long (either that or we have to do some penance/act of mercy-so we usually just abstain). We usually have one of these:

Grilled coagulated milk and Tomato Soup - my favorite

Fish sticks and tater tots

Burger King Big Fish

Fluffernutters

coagulated milk pizza

Potato soup

Mashed potatoes

Breakfast for dinner (no sausages or bacon)

things like that

what about nothing?

Well, then you choose the last option "I'm a hardcore faster (bread only)"... maybe I should've eliminated that last part in parentheses... well, since I can't go back and edit the choices just vote that one if you're doing the complete fasting.

oh no. Dominic wouldn't approve.

I actually had her make her own breakfast and lunch this morning instead of me fixing them.

I figured fasting can be hard enough without fixing food that you don't get to eat. ;)

Yes. I made my own toast this morning. :D

As well as my wonderful lunch consisting of peanut butter and graham crackers. Yummy!

hehe Well, thats a relief! :) I was pretty sure you wouldn't be, but I wanted to make sure. Last year I couldn't fast, but this year I'm doing a sort of "minimal fast", I'm still nursing Adrienne, but since she eats food, too, I can be a little more strict with my food intake than I would be if she were still too young for food. (The funniest part about not fasting last year was all the relatives who would try and make me eat when I was around them, even if I wasn't hungry!)

Right now I have a loaf of bread rising, and the oven preheating to bake it in a few minutes. Yummmmm...... Its kind of weird to fast when you still get to eat things you enjoy... I mean, its just bread, but I love it..... and seafood? Don't even get me started. I love it.

I love seafood (preferably shrimp), my wife hates it. She doesn't like Chinese food either. So these coming Fridays it's basically gonna be either potluck at home or some restaurant with a good variety. I'm probably gonna fry some shrimp tonight.
