This is way too true. It's lame actually because the bar scene gets really tiring.

In the town I used to live in we had "Gay Bagles" one Friday a month to talk about issues in a non-bar setting and mingle. That's the only instance I've heard of where the family was doing something social at a bar, well besides all the protests here in CA in the last few months.
