I downloaded some of Fitzsimmons' stuff and I really like it. "Passion Play" in particular.

Definitely see the comparisons. I would also add that he is Iron and Wine facial hair wise.

Also, all 3 of those artists are off the chain. I would also suggest checking all of Jose Gonzalez and Patrick Watson's studd. Watson's CD is perhaps the most eclectic stuff I've ever heard. It's almost the soundtrack to a silent movie about a carnival. The vocals are restrained (in fact, a lot of the songs have almost NONE) and the music is bizarre but very visual. Definitely check him out.
The next "CD" I am enjoying is by a woman from the UK, by the name of Adele, she has a sound similar to Amy Winehouse, but, for some reason, better, in my opinion. Some stand out songs are "Chasing Pavements," "Hometown," and, one of my favorites, "My Same."
i like this too.
I don't know if she would be considered "Indie" anymore, given her mainstream success, but I am really enjoying Sia's newest "CD," "Some People Have Real Problems." Some really amazing songs on that are "Day Too Soon," "Lentil," "Academia," and "I Go To Sleep."
i like Sia too ^_^

Yeah, it seems now that I stopped watching Greys, I still know what types of songs I like, and so don't need the show to direct me to this type of music anymore :)

BTW, it is coming to High Def, if you are interested http://www.highdefdigest.com/news/show/Dis..._this_Fall/1685

I was looking for this thread yesterday!

Check out She and Him. Google them. Its M. Ward and the actress Zooey Deschanel. But don't let that disuade you. She has a pure voice, and their album is simply awesome.

I know. It was one of my recommendation on iTunes. I still don't know if I am going to get the entire "CD" but I do like it, a lot. She does have a beautiful voice, though that does not surprise me seeing as how beautifully she sang "Baby, it's cold outside," in the movie "Elf."
"As We Grow" by Valentina

and anything by Lupe Fiasco
Never heard of Valentina, googled her, found her myspace, she is good. I like it. Why is it that so many of the good artists are coming from the UK?

BTW, speaking of that, there is another great artist up and coming, who, though Scottish, is from the UK as well. Her name is Amy Macdonald. I really wish you could buy songs on iTunes from other countries. Her "CD" has been there for a long time now, don't know when it will make it over here in America. :(

Here is her myspace http://www.myspace.com/amymacdonald

Check out Ciaran Flynn.

The cat is an Irish folk singer and he's off the chain. Met him once when he was touring in Orlando. Good stuff.
