THANK YOU.[/quote] Excuse me? I'm sure you didn't mean to scream that at me and I have no idea what you are talking about. If the site has been viewed before well, that's great. I thought newbies (like me) who hadn't seen it might be interested in it. How rude!
Gemma
I can't speak for Brendan, but I can state that he used to be affiliated with the brother community of this Carmel. The Carmel of Colorado Springs has "irregular" status. They and the Society of the Holy Family both sprung up before there was a local diocese. Both were built without going through the proper diocesan channels--therefore the "irregular" status. They claim to be in communion with Rome, but if Rome doesn't see it that way, then they aren't. The entire situation needs prayer, and a lot of it. I have that straight from the Pontifical Commission "Ecclesia Dei," which oversees the TLM initiative and religious communities. Blessings, Gemma
brendan1104
Dame Agnes, I was not yelling at you. I apologize if you think this is the case. In fact I was not yelling at anyone - but I put my message in caps because it's a strong reminder to everyone that this community has been discussed and debated more than several times and this thread, too, has a very high possibility (like all the others) to turn into a debate which all can be avoided by doing a simple search and reviewing previous threads. Once again, my apologies. But I still remind everyone that this thread is not a debate, and Vocation Station isn't the Debate Table. Thank you. inperpetuity
I have visited these sisters, and yes, they are beautiful, and very joyful, and yes, their status is irregular for now anyway. They do not make a formal consecration because of their status, but make private promises instead. I know two young woman who are novices there and they are very happy. TotusTuusMaria
They are a wonderful group of sisters. I wrote them twice, and they always responded kindly. Their daily schedule is just beautiful. A priest friend of mine bought a rosary for his habit, and it was lovely. As he said, "Pray. Pray hard. The Church needs good sisters like these." Pray that their status becomes regular. With the MP I think there is definite hope. EDIT: If your interested in their status, call the diocese. They faxed me something. They may have more updated information available on the community. God bless! Edited April 19, 2008 by TotusTuusMaria
