Confession And Scrupulosity

I am a horrible overthinker and I have some issues with overscrupulosity. There have been times where I have nearly driven myself crazy over something I did, only to take it to confession and have a priet tell me "That's not a sin," with solid, theological reasons why not. Of course, this doesn't happen all the time. Sometimes the sins that drive me nuts until I get to confession are actually sins.

Here's my question. What do you do when the answer to the question of "Is this a sin or not?" resides in the details, but you're afraid that the details might scandalize a good priest?

It is prideful to think that your priest will be shocked by the "magnitude" of your sin. Confess in number and in kind you will be fine.
