Thy Geekdom Come
I was confirmed in 8th grade, but most of the kids I lead on retreats are sophomores in high school...

little_angel202
i had the great privillage of being confirmed when i was only 9! this is because our parish is very small and there are hardly ever conformations so my parents made the most of the bishops visit ! i am also a sponsor now! let_go_let_God
The guy that I get to sponsor is one of my very best friends. It was a really cool thing when he asked me to be his sponsor. The thing is he and I are the closest of friends. Whenever either of us have somethng going on we talk and get it out. Then we pray. It's so cool how the two of us are as friends, and now I get to be his sponsor. His Confirmation is April 28. Until later God bless and keep you always-- LGLG

let_go_let_God
Getting off topic... From my confirmation just over 3 months ago I had another one of my good friends be my sponsor. One thing that really sticks out is when I was confirmed it almost felt like I was floating. I don't remember saying the responses, I don't remember feeling my sponsor's hand on my shoulder, but I remember smelling Chrism Oil for the next week and a half. That evening there was Life Teen at a "neighboring parish" (45 miles away) and before life teen they were holding a Jr High day retreat and we were sharing the mass with them. I saw a bunch of my older friends working there and they said that with out me and my friends saying anything, they knew we were confirmed because they could smell us about 20 feet away. (They also said that we were great witnesses for the younger kids ) My off topic topic Until later-- LGLG

Gunga_ann
That is so cool! The oil was like a warmth. It did smell good, but when I was confirmed, I didn't know what to do, wash it off or leave it on!
ilovechrist
What grade level do ya'll get confirmed at?
i was confirmed up in Ohio, and we were in 4th grade when confirmed.. i dunno why. i didn't feel i got the whole out of it, so i was allowed to go to the Confirmation class again with my 8th grade group, just to make sure everything stuck in my head from before. sponsors can be so much fun.. i would luv to be one.
4th grade!!! Wow... that's young. I don't blame you for wanting to go back with your class and make sure it stuck. I was at a retreat over All Souls Day and one of the Fransican Friars who was there said he felt silly because he didn't get Confirmed until he was in 10th grade. Then he asked when we got Confirmed in our area and my friends and I yelled "SENIORS" a few yelled juniors and he just turned red. Then he said maybe then I don't feel so silly. voiciblanche
We were confirmed in 7th grade, most schools around here confirm in either 7th or 8th
I'm in seventh now; I won't get confirmed until tenth grade, because here you get confirmed at fifteen.
