KnightofChrist
I guess we'll have to agree to disagree.
Illrelevant, either someone can be good and support abortion, or can not be good and support it. Truth is not relative. Abortion is murder that fact does not change if we know it or not. Those that support it can not be good in the eyes of God. They could perhaps do good things, but that would not make them a good person. Today 100,000 babies will die of abortion.
Socrates
C'mon, Kujo, let's call it what it is. Some people are going to do everything in their power to dog on Obama and Clinton because... let's face it. It's not like there's lots of positive things to be said about the conservative in this race, so the only tactic available is to take every little negative news snippet about the democrats and RUN with it as long as they can. That's all this is... period.
Really? There's a conservative in this race? Who? Ron Paul? Yeah, all those mean old conservatives picking on poor little Obama and Clinton, who haven't done anything wrong other than support infanticide and . . . oh well, never mind. The Dems are awesome, Obama's such a genuine guy, oh yeah, yeah for Dems, hoorah . . .
Justin86
Wrong-o buddy. Mostly Jewish and First Baptists until a few years ago when the influx of Hispanics pulled a Justin Timberlake and brought Catholic back!
First of all I have no idea what Jews have to do with a discussion about Protestant loyalty. Secondly, why would First Baptists convert to Catholicism anyway? I honestly don't even understand what you're trying to say here.
Anyway, I think your view that Protestants lack loyalty speaks for itself.
I think your obvious lack of growing up around them does the same. Really, we have Protestants here on phatmass. Haven't heard one of them get offended yet.

I said that my town was predominantly Jewish and First Baptists until there was an influx of Hispanics moving in over the last 10 years or so which has resulted in a level of parity between the 3 religions in terms of membership in the town. I was making a joke with the Justin Timberlake line which apparently was not received. My bad. Anyway, since I did grow up around Protestants, I think you can't say that I don't know what I'm talking about. I don't know what kind your definition of "loyalty" is, so you'll probably have to define it before we continue.

But it is very, very typical and kind of sad that since nothing positive can be said for McCain, people just post all the garbage about the democratic candidates. And there IS admittedly plenty of garbage to give us reading materials for ages. I just think it'd be a nice change to hear about the candidate someone is supporting and why... but I'm more optimistic than most. P.S. Ron Paul is running as an independent but yes, he does consider himself a republican... I think the only conservative thing about him is his pro-life stance. Aloysius
no, Ron Paul is not running as an independent. He is still technically running for the Republican nomination, but does not have a chance to win that. he has consistently said he won't make an independent run... I wish he would
