Guest Guest_hopeful1
How do I explain to a non-Catholic why we don't eat meat on Fridays during Lent?
Pontifex
It is a discipline that hopefully leads us into the desert with Jesus. Little acts of mortification such as these should remind us of our sole dependence upon God, and that all else will pass away. Of course if one goes out and eats Lobster or Shrimp stuffed with crabmeat than I fail to see how that is a fast. Again, it is a corporate movement of the Body of Christ that leads us deeper into this Penitential season of Lent. Ad Majorem Dei Gloriam, Fr.
