In 1998 the Monastic Family of Bethlehem, founded in 1950, became a Religious Institute of Pontifical Right, but I am pretty sure they don't profess solemn vows. In the newest pamphlet I have on them it says perpetual profession. Maybe at some point they will also have solemn vows though, like the Carthusians, especially since they are Pontifical Right now.

Then the Community of St. John, founded in 1975, is of Diocesan Right under the Bishop of Autun in France.

Can someone ask an historian of canon law? Dominicans follow the rule of St. Augustine+their own constitutions. What about the Carthusians?

Web site for the Carthusian Order...here, among lots of other good things you will find the Statues of the Order.

I'm not a historian, but I thought perhaps this site would be helpful. Also, I have recently learned, on this phorum, that indeed the Dominicans follow the Rule of St. Augustine....I further went out and looked a some web sites and it's absolutely true....I can't remember who replied to my question about that but he/she was right.
