The rules of civil law, for example, as being Biblically commanded to follow, may negate the fact that there is female authority as a conduit. An applicable example for us Catholic non-sspx'ers might be tax-payer funded abortions. We are obligated to render to Caesar what is Caesars. We are also obligated not to support abortions. We realize that some of our tax money goes to this purpose, but we judge that it is incumbent upon us to follow the law (with certain exceptions). cmotherofpirl
But its not biblical, Israel had female judges, and Mary had Jesus turn water into wine. Do you think Jesus ever disregarded what his mum wanted. Did not popes listen to women saints?

Deb
St. Mary's should be banned. If this is what they are teaching their students, they will have a very hard time once they are out in the real world. Unless they are all going to be Priests or Religious, they are most likely going to be working for a woman at some point. It is a load of B.S. This is basketball folks, not a monastery. What a bunch of turds.

Here is a quote from the NAB from 1 Timothy, Chapter 2: 11 A woman must receive instruction silently and under complete control. 12 I do not permit a woman to teach or to have authority over a man. 4 She must be quiet. 13 For Adam was formed first, then Eve. 14 Further, Adam was not deceived, but the woman was deceived and transgressed. 15 But she will be saved through motherhood, provided women persevere in faith and love and holiness, with self-control. I think it very much represents the idea of much of the left today: We don't agree with it (in the name of tolerance and diversity, usually), so, let's ban it! Self-contradictory to say the least. If you can't play like the other boys, then you don't play at all. It is not self-contraditory at all and has nothing to do with the dictates of the Catholic Faith. It is just anal. goldenchild17
I can see both sides of the argument so I don't have an opinion. I think veritas is bringing up some interesting points that really aren't being properly addressed.
