Brother Adam Posted January 26, 2008 Share Posted January 26, 2008 For those of you thinking of going into ministry, take a look at a typical weekend for me: Saturday 7:30 AM - Arrive at Church and set up for first reconiciliation 8:30 AM - Greet priests as they arrive. 9:00 AM - Greet families as they arrive. 9:30 AM - First Reconciliation 10:30 AM - Be present at the reception 11:00 AM - Clean up 12:00 PM - Prepare for Website launch presentation at mass 3:00 PM - Break 4:00 PM - Be available for website launch for mass 6:00 PM - Prepare for CCD Classes 8:00 PM - Go Home Sunday 8:00 AM - Arrive at Church to unlock the building 8:30 AM - Give instructions to facilitators 9:00 AM - Be present at the Bible Blessing for our 6th graders at mass 10:00 AM - Website Launch Presentation 11:00 AM - Facilitate CCD program 1:00 PM - Lock building down 1:15 PM - Prepare for confirmation 2:00 PM - Break 2:30 PM - Open church and set up for Confirmation 3:30 PM - Confirmation 5:15 PM - Teach Web design Class 7:00 PM - Lock down building 7:15 PM - Devotions in Eucharistic Chapel 8:00 PM - Go Home. Through the sweat, tears, and occassionally blood, when you see the fruits of your labor in this line of work its instantly worth it. It's incredibly hard work, for very low pay, but like the teacher, if you are called to it, you won't be happy anywhere else and if you are not called to it, you won't make it. And yes, I am lucky to get to do something I love, not because I get out at 8. I put in my time going to work at noon and getting out at 3:30am.
