joemal1117
The interview was severly edited, that was onvious to see. I am wondering about the other content. It seemed that Diane Sawyer was a little uncomfortable with Mel and Visa Versa. The greates part of the interview was definetelt the "work in progress" comment. It seems as if Mel is committed to continual spiritual growth. And knowing that he acknowleges the Holy Spirit as a true presence, I hope he wil lead to to fuller communion and with the church today while still championing the beauty of the traditions. It's those traditions which Mel is holding to while he is continual conversion. If what he says is true, it's probably safe to say that he will move closer to where we find ourself today, through contuinual study and meditaion of Christ and the Holy Spirit Or at least we hope for that
Carrie
I think Mel Gibson did very well, especially considering the interview was more like an interrogation.
thicke
I had to miss it because of my Knights of Columbus meeting. I did hear a clip from it on the radio this morning. It was when she asked him if he was anti-Semitic. I thought he answered that very well.
Paladin D
It was pretty well, but the part about the Vatican denying what the Pope said about the movie, made the Vatican look suspicious in the bad light. I also recorded the entire interview, and it's on my PC right now in .wmv format.

Rebirth flame
I personally thought Mel handled himself quite well. It made me mad when she was trying to get him to say that the Holy Spirit wrote the movie, and that it was the One True account of what happened. He said he was inspired BY the Spirit, not The Spirit wrote his movie for him. And i don't believe he ever claimed he had the One True account anywhere in that interview... Man, could you see the synicism (sp?) in Diane Sawyer's eye's... I think he did very well, and i can hardly wait to see this movie!!!! :D

Seven77
man... his responses were classic! haha... he said he was going to pitch his tent where no one could find him... with the weapons of the Mass destruction. "read the Gospels Diane" ---- joemal1117: i got that too.. he said he was still flawed, still growing. its clear that the Holy Spirit is guiding him. Oik
I think the interview was okay on Mel Gibson's part. I also think it sucked. I think half the time it was about trying to dig up dirt and the other half dispelling the myths that have already been talked to death. Also, the first 10 or so mintues of interview left me wondering if Diane sawyer actually watced Mel Gibson's last interview on EWTN for questions to ask.
L5
I think this was an important interview. Isn't it the first interview about the movie on secular TV?
Donna
(L5! Good to see ya. What's up?) I agree, the interview shown on sec. TV - important.
Oik
For evangelization purposes, yes, however I think that secular tv can be misguiding when they represent some "news" as Truth. Edited February 18, 2004 by Oik
God Conquers
I love how he talked about the Holy Ghost, about his conversion, about Tradition, about us all being children of God! Wow, I just really like the interview.
