But, I think Paula was wrong. You don't just "make up words" to a famous Broadway song [i]with the writer in the audience.[/i] While it was certainly a tense, awkward moment, it was only the first 10 seconds of the song, so starting over wasn't that big of a deal, in my view. Archuleta annoys me, too. His voice is breathy, he has ZERO CHARISMA (that "awschucks" thing is obnoxious), and can barely control his blinking/nervous smiling when he's not singing. The whole thing bothers me. His voice is nice, but he hasn't shown me much since singing "Imagine," other than picking these bizarre songs that he is 10-15 years too young to enjoy. She had some really good performances early on, but she has just looked weaker each week in comparison to the other performers. Now that Carly is gone I don't care as much. Heck, anyone with any kind of musical experience... middle school theatre or performing arts... will tell you that you absolutely do NOT do that. It may not seem like a big deal... and it's over and done with now... but it definitely wasn't the way to go. If you've watched previous seasons, some people have lost the words... you keep going... you hum or you find the words in your head... but you do not, under any circumstance, stop and start over. As for Little David... he has awesome awesome awesome vocals... I rarely agree with Randy but he is right about little David... for being 17 years old and so beaver dam shy (yes, the ladies love him for his cute shyness and his infectious smile... that's just the way we word) he is doing wonderfully. This year is archuleta. Can't stand anything about him. I'm sure he's a nice dude and all but he's just one of those annoying kids you can't stand to be around. Not to say anything about the fact that I wouldn't listen to anything he ever put out should he make it big. I guess I'm just not one for the Josh Groban/El Divo type... This is a talent competition where you're singing well-known songs that you did not write. I understand your point and accept it if it was HER music at HER show; however, as it was not, I disagree. The real question is how are we to accept someone at this level that didn't bother to memorize the lyrics? And, if she did memorize them, why wasn't she a) paying attention or b) calm enough? I'm sorry, I just don't like this girl. David...ugh. He's annoying and I agree with Goldenchild's assessment, though I am a fan of Josh Groban. This kid isn't even in the some neighborhood as Josh Groban. Michael Johnn (i thought while he was good he didn't really do anything...and looks too old really be appealing) Kristi (waay boring I had tears everytime) Brooke (theres not many songs she can carry and make sound good, definitely too nervous and unable to handle the spotlight) Carly (she looks mean and angry when she sang) Sorry, but ALL of them are pretty boring. the only one i can give a nod and props to is david cook. but even then he sounds very similar to singers already Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
