My spiritual director's comment.

He said something about how the Eastern Catholic Churches don't necessarily believe in 21 ecumenical councils, though he wasn't able to go into too much detail.

The Eastern Churches have their own theology and understanding of Dogma, Doctrine and Discipline and are part of the universal Church.

okay yeah, there were a couple of threads on this some time ago. Not sure there was much resolution on the matter here though.

Nope, but I figured I'd ask anyways. :)

I'm looking for articles on this and since I am doing my dissertation on something East-West, I like reading about this sort of difference.
