jmjtina
I don't think it can top Bella but I'm interested in seeing it. They compared this movie to a Napolean Dynamite humor. Is that true?

chocolate thunder
Juno's better and smarter than Bella. An earlier poster had concerns about Juno's "teen wisdom" angle... with which I agree. But if you want a box score of the pro-life/pro-choice preferences of the respective filmmakers, let me know. Napoleon Dynamite is actually more pro-life than either of them. Michael Cera is my favorite comic actor right now.
hahah he's so dorky I love him. I saw the movie today.. I thought it was alright. I felt so bad for Vanessa though, when Mark was saying how he's not ready. Then they had to go
and get divorced.
<< That might be a spoiler, IDK. I thought the soundtrack was... interesting. I kidn of hope never to hear it again lol.

Napoleon Dynamite is actually more pro-life than either of them.
The makers of Bella are actively pro-life, and are fervent Catholics. I saw an early screening of the movie where the producer and star of Bella gave a presentation, including conversion stories - it was quite inspiring. They don't want to publicly market it as a "pro-life movie," though, in order to get the movie out to a larger audience. The pro-life, Christian message is presented subtly and gently (yet clearly) rather than "in your face." From what I read, the makers of Juno (which I haven't seen) are not pro-life, and people I know who've seen the flick say it's rather crass and vulgar. Napoleon Dynamite, while made by Mormons (who oppose abortion) has no message about abortion one way or the other. (Though I realize you're probably attempting to be humorous.) Justin86
If the movie has Napoleon Dynamite style humor it would really smell of elderberries. I tried watching that once. Didn't get through the first 20 minutes.
ilovechrist
Bella is a beautiful, pro-life movie--but it doesn't have the appeal to the larger audiences. For a production out of Hollywood, I was VERY impressed with the work of Juno in establishing a pro-life message that will actually convey itself to a larger audience. It's important to work in small steps in changing the culture around us, and I believe that its work like Juno that will help accomplish this. These stories about actresses + directors being pro-choice is irrelevant. First, I strongly advise you to not listen to other people's opinions and watch the movie for yourselves. Secondly, just because an actress is pro-choice in belief does not affect the way she portrays a beautiful character who gives her child up to adoption, defying planned parenthood and the pro-abortion crowd.
