Death For The Eucharist...

you know what i've thought about for a long time but never have discussed it with anyone?

would you be willing to die for the Eucharist?

YOUR HEART'S IMMEDIATE ANSWER IS "YES!!! AS WE FULLY BELIEVE IT IS NOTHING LESS THAN THE BODY AND BLOOD, SOUL AND DIVINITY OF JESUS THE CHRIST..."

with all the random acts of terror in the world, school shootings, mall shootings, but lately the last one the church shooting in denver, i think about if someone came in and wanted to defame our Lord in the Most Blessed Sacrament, would you be willing in exchange to die in place of a random crazy man defaming or desecrating our Lord?

i think about that alot... randomly, but still alot..

I've thought about that when I've been on duty for Adoration. Just me in the chapel... What if a team of ninjas came crashing through the ceiling? What would I do?

I'm pretty sure I'd take them on. You can't know for sure. (They're ninjas after all) But I think I would

Yeah, I know about the on guard in adoration stuff. I know I can be sure ninjas couldn't take us if my two good friends were there... but you know, there are lots of horror stories about people coming in and stealing Christ when people are not there... or people come in and try and take it by force... strange evils out there... some want the eucharist BADLY so they could desecrate it in terrible rituals.

I think about that often too. But many different situations as well... like terrorists, animals, angry church ladies...

Indeed they do. I've read up on a few of those rituals and I wish I never asked. It's completely appalling what people do to Our Lord.

You're clearly making this up... All Ninjas are Catholic.

I hope I would... At least put up a good fight with a lot of screaming.

I like to think I would. Still, and I hope this doesn't make me sound horrible, I'm going to go with the fear response that I'd probably do almost anything when faced by a lunatic with a gun. It's never happened to me before, so I don't know how I'd react. People can say they'd like to be tough, but I think I'd just panic at that point.

The ideal thing would be to consume the Eucharist. Afterall, lets say you're defending and you lose (which wouldn't be the case with most of us ) now you're dead and they have the Eucharist.

Instead, consume it, and then defend. And maybe in the process you'll get some extra graces, you know something like a scooby snack or something....

You know, when I first saw this topic title, I thought about Jack Chick's "Death Cookie".

Personally, would I die for the Eucharist? If, I was approaching this from a non-Protestant viewpoint, then yes. Although it would be a rather lousy death against trained ninja assassins

What if someone came in and you and your mum were there, and they said that they'd either shoot your mother or the Host, and you had to choose which one?? I think about this at least twice a day.

I'd tell them to shoot the host, because they wouldn't kill Jesus. All they'd do is make about 100 more really small Jesuses.
