cathgirl
That's not a dumb question at all!!! I just started to get into Medjugorje, so I don't know everything about the fasting. I did hear a clip with one the visionaries talking and she said Wednesdays AND Fridays. I guess my opinion is all about the attitude in the fasting. Someone who fasts both days may be complaining or making a big show of it, while a person who does just one day may do it joyfully. The visionary mentioned that Mary wanted us to do all of the mysteries of the rosary every day, and I doubt that there are many who do that (including me ). Sorry I was kinda long winded!! Iacobus
thank you CathGirl. Only thing with me, fasting two days a week I have no problem with and I think my body could take it but I would struggle with keeping to Matthew 6:16-18 I would "disfigure" my face when I am fasting, not to gain attention, but out of hungry. But I think it would be good for us and help us to grow in Him.
cathgirl
I agree, it's kinda hard not to make yourself noticed. At lunch if I bring a pb&j sandwich (ok i cheat  ) everyone thinks that I am trying to show off by trying to be skinnier or somethin, which I don't really care about cuz i don't have a weight problem. I just want to fast and not have them notice.
VeraMaria
I just want to fast and not have them notice. YES!!! I wish that was possible. The other day I was fasting for a novena and people noticed I wasn't eating much and drinking water, and they started yelling at me that I'm anorexic, that I'm too skinny already, ands it got me as far as being sent to the school counselor, who, when I tried to tell her that no, i was NOT anorexic , looked at me and smiled and started 'Vera, the first stage is denial..." AAAAARRRRRGGGGGHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! sorry, just neede to say that. people are annoying.

Then she got mad at me because I was "being loud and calling attention to religious practices" or something. when it was the people i sat with at lunch that made all the comotion, i never wanted to call attention on it -_- -_- -_- -_- -_- <_<
cathgirl
That would have made me very angry , in fact, it upsets me just by reading it!!! I highly doubt my couselor would say something like that. I bet she was just mad at you for the moment, and went home to start her own novena! :D
