Luthien
L_D and I just saw the new Will Smith movie, "I Am Legend" Verrrry interesting plot. I got me thinkin' 'bout how its possible that mankind's overconfindence in their own knowledge and discoveries could someday cause some sort of global demise. Plus the german shepherd is adorable. Laudate_Dominum
I liked the movie itself a lot (especially the dog) but the ads before the movie were horrible!! I wouldn't take a youngster to see the movie just because of that. There was one ad that featured half naked buff dudes with a song about hot bodies or something and there was a trailer for some horrible serial killer movie. In the future I think I will go to movies at the last minute so that I can miss the ads.
N/A Gone
Could that be a moral argument for downloading torrents? You dont get dirty ads hehe I read the book in high school, I am very interested in this movie.
Spamity Calamity
I saw it. Was way cool and I dug the butterfly mechanism they threw in there at the end. But I'm a sucker for zombie/end of the world movies. Does anybody remember "The Omega Man" with Charlton Heston? They made it back in the 70's or something but it was also based off the book. That was a favorite of mine too.
scardella
I kinda liked it, but I don't think I'd see it again. Thoughts on it later...
PapaHilarious
Castaway meets 28 Days Later. ... It was decent, considering someone gave me a free ticket It's just a shame, though, the way Hollywood works with these big budgets flics: greenlighting it before there was even a script and relying on the terrible CGI zombies instead of the good part of the story (the somber reflection of thinking you're the last man on earth). Farsight one
I'm bothered by the fact that they didn't go into more detail in one regard. That particular "zombie" was able to set a trap and had clear command over the others, while the rest of them worked solely by animal instincts. It just seems like they should have gone into more detail as to why that particular "zombie" was able to reason like a human.
Luthien
I agree Farsight one! That would have made the movie interestin'.
Matt1618
I loved I am Legend, it was so sad what Will Smith had to do to his furry friend did anyone who saw it happen to see the new Batman trailer, or prologue? I saw them both and that movie looks amazing. ( Heath Ledger plays the best Joker IMO. 100x better than Nicholson)
Socrates
I haven't seen this movie yet, though I want to (mainly to see the new Dark Knight teaser trailer on the big screen. - Ok, I'm a Batman dork.) The movie was based on a classic 1954 horror novel which has been (badly) made into movies a couple times, but was basically the original infection/zombies take over the world story. It pretty much inspired everything that came after. From what I read, the script on this flick got re-written so many times that the story got messed up, and what was originally a great twist ending got changed to a lame ending. The project was stuck in "production hell" for 13 years, and the script got re-worked so many times by so many people that a lot of the story got destroyed. (Someone who had read earlier parts of the script, said that they had a great ending, that got completely changed, and there were many things leading up to a twist that never happened in the final version).
