i'm definitely making an impact on my health teacher. she told me she's never had a student so open about their values. she was wondering if i was planning on being a priest, i had to inform her i was not sure if i was called by God to do that.

anyway, there's a very real possibility i can convince her that abortion causes a higher risk of breast cancer, she said it is very plausible and makes a lot of sense to her, i'm going to do the poster project thing she has us do about it.

wow, what an adventure it's been. let's see, i told you about the pamphlets.

anyway, we just started sex ed. well, i knew the day it was going to start, so i went out to Family Christian Books Stores and got a sweet t-shirt that says no greater love than this and has a crucifix on it (to show the kiddies what REAL love is-- self-sacrificial) and also a hat that looks like an army hat but says "ARMY OF THE ONE" it's PHAT!

i definitely chalenged her at like, every turn in the first day. two kids in my class were ready to start a riot against me, LOL! but anyway, i think i've really been making a difference. this subject not only brings up the morality of sex and such, the theology of the body which i try to infuse into it, but also almost every life issue. Abortion debate erupts almost every time. Actually, two of the days we just talked about the body parts which i was fine with, although the kids thought i was wierd when i commented on how beautiful and amazing the human body is. '

anyway, i may be witnessing a change of heart in one of the persons who was ready to kill me at the begining.. hehehe. she now has said that she plans on not having sex till marriage, and she would never have an abortion herself (keep in mind, before this she was about as pro-abortion as one could get-- calling the fetus a "parasite", so this is a big plus, although she's still a 'however, it's the woman's right to choose' type person) I think i'm getting through to the students at least on a level that makes them think twice. i devote alot of my studyhall time to going to the library and printing up articals then handing them out to ppl in my health class.

also, i talked to my health teacher after class one day. You see, in class she mentioned she personally believes that life begins at conception. i then confronted her with the question of whether or not she was against chemical contraception, and presented her with a completely secular source that prooved it can kill a fertilized egg. she said i brough up a good point that she had never thought of. she warned (something which i already knew) that this would have no impact to ppl in science today because it's more common to believe life begins at implantation from a strictly scientific point of view. But i do think i'm gettin her thinking about it, and i convinced one other Christian girl in my school, to an extent, that chemical contraception is wrong. she is not convinced about all forms of contraception being bad though, and neither is my teacher. but it's progress! and i also think that i'll be able to get her to mention this info about chemical contraceptives for the sake of anyone in the class that believes life begins at conception.

well, that concludes my Mission Report to you all. I shall continue to keep you informed of my progress. Pray for all in my class to be open to the fact that sex isn't good-- it's SACRED!

That is very cool! I wish I could do stuff like that, but I don't go to school anymore. I also didn't know about the whole abortion leading to breast cancer issue. Good to know!
