Aloysius
okay. i posted this in open mic, but i wanna turn it into a creepy aliens discussion too, cuz it's about school and stuff we deal with every day i have been finding Health Class very rewarding... hehe. aight, 1st thing, this speaker came to talk to us about cancer. she was telling us the different causes and stuff, breast cancer and all that. well, when she was talking about the causes of breast cancer i raised my hand and asked her what she thought of all the immense studies of how abortion leads to breast cancer. she didn't have a very clear answer. she said she knew that carrying babies to full term lessens the risk though. i informed her of the immense levels of estrogin that come in during a pregnancy (for some reason pregnancies that end up in a miscarriage always have low estrogen levels) and are supposed to normalize back after a pregnancy, but when the pregnancy is unnaturally prematurely ended, it doesn't happen that way, and they've done studies that reveal that abortion causes breast cancer. anyway, she didn't quite know so she asked for my email adress and said "this is how she learns interesting new tidbits to add to her presentation" (she goes to different schools giving presentations)... anyway, she's gonna email me after looking into it... so i may have helped create a great channel to get this information out to the youth!! YAY! and, today, i learned that it takes 21 days to break a habit. today is day 7 for me . i shall post any more adventures i encounter in health class here Pax Christi anyway, i'm sure some of us go to public schools. post your own adventures! Aloysius
haha... true CIMLOg true. anyway, we're talkin bout mental health. the only thing i needed to do was when the speaker who came in mentioned "homosexuality is NOT a psychological disorder, it just used to be" i hadta write on the sheet that gets sent to the speaker that many good psychologists see that, at least in most cases, it is a psychological disorder. i asked if he was so confident that learned psychologists from back then were wrong while learned psychologists nowadays are right. this subject has been coming up a lot lately. possibly cause i think there's a kid somewhere in our school who 'came out' recently, like this year or somethin. i don't know who exactly it is, but have suspicions. anyway, i'll pray for him. also maybe it's cuz of the same-sex marriages out in calif. w/e. anyway, i havta fight two fronts, against unjust discrimination against gays AND against unjust acceptance of their sinful behavior. oi ve. well, hopefully my messages to these speakers are hittin em somewhere! :shield:
cathgirl
My friends and I have been having lots of discussions on gay people lately. There are a few kids that go to my school and say they are. I agree with you and think that it is a psychological disorder. My friends and I think that it is so odd how we take God out of everything and our country's morals turns to carp. Then, instead of doing the smart thing, people want to take God out of everything that He is still "allowed" to have anything to do w/. Grrr.....!!!!!!! Guest lundercovera
i wouldn't say it's ALWAYS a psychological disorder, i like how al said 'in most cases' but even if someone is biologically set that way, it doesn't mean they're any less called to chastity. the majority of gays in this country have a psychological disorder caused by a messed up divorce crazy society that accepts and promotes homosexuality. however, even without cultures like this homosexuality still existed. the Catechism says it 'remains largely unexplained' but still calls them to chastity. Matthew
I'm just really erm... angered that they're making it legal. Marriage is the union of a man and a woman and what they're doing now blows it all out of proportion. Call it a Zyclete or a Fonark but it's not a Marriage. Grrrrrr.........
