Time to bust out the candles and day-by-day calanders. Not quite time for the tree yet, though (for me, anyway).

So... when is the actual tree time? My mom has been bugging me to put up decorations on the tree she set up, and I've been saying... "It's early yet". Not that it isn't fun or whatever... just we don't even have an advent wreath set up yet...

We usually don't get the tree until a week or two before Christmas, mainly because if you get it too early, it looses that great pine smell before the big day (we get real trees). Otherwise I think any time's a great time once advent hits. Ack, this reminds me, I need to go open day two of the calander :)

Have a blessed Advent, everyone. :) Mine has started in fine form - my parish had an Advent holy hour tonight, with Adoration, Benediction, and the opportunity to go to Confession throughout. There were less than twenty people there, which was sad (our nave is huge) but the love and anticipation in the church was almost tangible. I felt so close to everyone there, even though I only knew one of them personally.

Our "advent evening of reflection" is tomorrow night, and our penance service is next Monday. I will have to get me to confession because I haven't been in, oh, a few months now....
