prose
I have only in my life ever seen one real Chick Tract (not counting the ones I looked up online).
Farsight one
NO! Don't remove all the comedy from my life! I need something light-hearted to read in between essays.
I guess I've just never seen them as a source of comedy. I get the same eerie/evil feeling from Chick Tracts as I do from Ouija Boards. I have no doubt that satan resides in those tracts and in the message they bring, so for me it is no laughing matter. I went to a Christian book store to see if I could get a Gaelic bible from them, and I saw a few Tracts on a display stand near the register, and I just could not stay there. I know it sounds weird, but I could FEEL them there. It was not pleasant.
N/A Gone
I just had an anti-Catholic student give me a DVD of Gendron. She asked for a reply. 17 pages later I have the reply.
Brother Adam
See, this is why I say that the Catholic church should have started suing people for slander years ago. (and donating the winnings to charity) Can you imagine a world without Chick tracts? <img src='http://www.phatmass.com/phorum/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/happy.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='^_^' />
The Church does not sue people, she takes her persecution with a stiff upper lip. I am sorry to say that I find myself debating dissident Catholics more often than non-Catholics these days. Then again I do not listen to Protestant talk shows looking for anti-Catholicism. I am glad someone is out there laying the truth down.

Ad Majorem Dei Gloriam
I will often discuss things with mis-informed Catholics or Protestants or often Neo-Pagans if they are willing to discuss. For those who it is obvious are just out to rant and aren't really concerned with the truth I abide by a rule of thumb my dad told me one time: "Don't argue with geniuses; people may confuse the two of you." If someone is clearly interested in the truth, I'm all for talking. If someone is more interested in being a shock jockey, then there is no real talking to them.
