Archaeology cat

Congratulations! And even if it does rain on your wedding day, you won't mind. :) Or at least, I didn't mind, even though it was pouring the entire day of my wedding.

Ash Wednesday

You want to know how he did it?

He handed me a beautiful red rose and kneeled and popped the question.
Here's the funny thing. It was when we were just chilling out and having cake and coffee with his GRANDMOTHER.

:lol_pound:

It was so.... POLISH.

To make a long story as short as possible -- we've been dating since 2002. We were internet friends for years before that, even when we were both dating other people. But we met in person at World Youth Day and as fate would have it, both single. :deal: For the majority of the time up until this year it was a long distance relationship, which really SUCKED and there were times I wondered if all this hardship was worth it, plus during part of that time I had to weather the loss of my mother. I'm very independant and stubborn in a lot of ways, so for some of the time things felt very uphill. But I guess as we share so much in common, including a strong underlying friendship, there's always been an unbreakable bond between us -- even in the hardships, I knew I would have been a fool to walk away from it all. He's always known that I was the girl he was going to marry and that's all there was to it! So after years of trying to figure out who was going to live where, we finally both ended up in England earlier this year and it's all finally coming together. And there you have it.

And anyone who says they don't believe in Providence after hearing stories like that is insane.

That's beautiful! God is so good!

Question... did his grandmother know he was going to do that? What was her reaction? Did she stay and watch, or leave the room? That is probably the funniest part of the story!

Not all males are from Canada

To be honest I don't remember exactly what her reaction was! I think basically she said in German "Oh mein Gott!" (she's Polish but makes German exclamations sometimes) She doesn't speak any English -- she's been yelling at us saying "You better get married before I'm dead" and we'd tell her that she's just not allowed to die on us before then.
