Was it really painful after?
How long was it until you were able to participate in life's duties again?
First, I had a really cool doctor who put me under before any needles were used. I did throw up on the car ride home, but general anesthesia can do that. Also, I was given some pretty good pain meds for the first week.

I didn't get much swelling, and if you are careful, the chances of getting dry sockets are pretty low. The stitches lasted for a little over two weeks.

The pain was more dull than sharp, and not as bad as a migraine. By week two, I just needed some Advil a couple times a day.

I chopped wood and built a bonfire the next day, though I wouldn't advise it quite that early for most sane people.
... It reminded me of the cover of the Pink Floyd album, "Momentary Lapse of Reason" -- that room with all those beds. Seeing all these people in the room dumped off and sleeping in those beds was probably one of the funniest things I had ever seen and I wanted to laugh, but given that I couldn't feel my face I couldn't comprehend moving my mouth. So I laughed in my head.
:hehe:
