Mateo el Feo
From the book: "Democrats make sure we all share our toys, just like Mommy does." "Democrats make sure we are always safe, just like Mommy does." "Democrats make sure children can go to school, just like Mommy does." On the cutting room floor: "Democrats make sure that Mommy can kill her unborn children." "Democrats make sure that Mommy and Daddy can get an easy divorce, because sometimes 'family' is a hassle." "Democrats make sure public schools are for indoctrination and emotional self-reflection, not actual learning."

Norseman82
Wouldn't the title more accurately be "Why Are My Two Mommies Democrats"?
Aloysius
reminds me of why I oppose democrats: I am not a child and the government is NOT my mommy. ever heard the term "nanny state"? it has a negative connotation and so would mommy state. my mom can teach me to share my toys, my governnment cannot legislate me into it. Socrates
http://littledemocrats.net/ questions, comments, words of wisdom?
Why is Mommy a Democrat? Because "Mommy"'s a lazy welfare-dependent bisexual crack-addict silly sally who aborted all her other kids, and wants Uncle Sam to subsidize all her various vices? Or, maybe it's because, judging from the cover illustration, "Mommy" appears to be a squirrel. Squirrels are not particularly bright nor reflective creatures, liking to rush headlong under the wheels of moving vehicles and such, when they're not busy chasing nuts. Socrates
From the book: "Democrats make sure we all share our toys, just like Mommy does." "Democrats make sure we are always safe, just like Mommy does." "Democrats make sure children can go to school, just like Mommy does."
Is it just me, or does anyone else find this a rather chilling summation of modern liberal ideology? When will people realize that it's not the job of the government to be everybody's "Mommy"??! Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to the "Mommy State." Move over, Big Brother - "Big Mama is Watching You." Quoting from the 2005 Democratic party platform:
We will defend the dignity of all Americans against those who would undermine it. Because we believe in the privacy and equality of women, we stand proudly for a woman's right to choose, consistent with Roe v. Wade, and regardless of her ability to pay. We stand firmly against Republican efforts to undermine that right. At the same time, we strongly support family planning and adoption incentives. Abortion should be safe, legal, and rare.
Source: http://www.democrats.org/pdfs/2004platform.pdf I think it's gotta be pretty tough to remain in a party whose platform explicity excludes and attacks one's pro-life position, going so far as to associate it with being Republican. It's almost like a political excommunication. LOL. Jokes aside, I do wish pro-life Democrats well. I just think they've got quite an uphill battle to revive a political party that has sold its soul to the culture of death.

I'm a quasi-Republican, but it has nothing to do with big vs. small government, or economic reasons, or the war, or the border. Those are all "throw-in" issues. Abortion is the make or break issue is practically every case. I'd happily vote for Hilary if she was adamantly opposed to abortion. I realize this is a very hypothetical situation here, but I think it's a hypothetical situation worth mentioning for the sake of argument.
