I have made the habit of making acts of contrition frequently and I wonder how frequently other Catholics make them. Therefore I respectfully ask non-Catholics not to respond to this poll, keeping in mind the aim of the poll and that some non-Catholics do not practice this in their community of belief. I attempted to put most of the situations where a Catholic may want to make an act of contrition; but the only time I think "most" (not all) Catholics would ever even attempt an act of contrition would be the confessional.

Just wondering, what constitutes an Act of Contrition. When I approach Holy Communion, I often repeat the Jesus Prayer. "Lord Jesus Christ, Son of God, have mercy on me a sinner."

I must admit me being only nineteen and highly busy I don't usually think to do it everyday. But I try to go to confession once to twice a week if it's possible.

I always say one in confession and I make an act of contrition when recieving Communion. I usually say an act of contrition when I can, or when I remember to.

Very true indeed.

Confession.

I love saying it right before absolution, but sometimes the confessor never asks/gives me time. Sometimes he gives it as penance. But I prefer it in the confessional.
