mulls
i say amen. that looks like a lot of groups of people who love Jesus, who are in/going to heaven to me. but i guess i'm being presumptuous.
ironmonk
Don't forget the non-denoms... they're only about 30 years old... counting all the fly by night "Christian" churches, 34,000+. That's a lot of people who didn't want to listen to the Church that Christ built, so they built their own. They have some of the Truth... some deny the truth purposely because they are enslaved by a particular sin, some because they've been lied to. Cure of Ars
The Eucharist is enough reason that we need to reach out and bring these people back to the foundation of Truth (1 Tim 3:15).
MC Just
There's nothing wrong with Good protestants who treat Catholics with respect. I'm a little angry because there are a few ignorant protestants in my family who believe Catholics crucified Jesus. The one's who ignore the facts although it's been proved over and over. You know when you try to dialogue and it feels like your speaking to the wall?? I beleive there truly are alot of Protetants who are Sincere and Loving followers of Christ, Hey our Church teaches that they are still somewhat Catholic and part of the body of Christ. But there are alot of Decievers and False prophets out there. Obviously many of them are Protestant. I don't mean to offend the Good ones. Just the ones who choose to be Ignorant. Bro Adam is an Example, he at least takes the time to learn from us Catholics rather than just assume or believe what other Anti-Catholics teach. FreeSoul
How could Catholics crucify Jesus? That just seems odd. lol
MC Just
Well they say because it's Roman Catholic, it has something to do with the Romans at the time of Christs Crucifixion, I tell them it was the Jews who had him crucified the Romans would have let him go. Plus the Old Rome has nothing to do with Roman Catholicism and the Vatican. So they beleive i'm in a Religion that Crucified Jesus. They believe Bible Christianity is "Regular Christianity" They ignore or put to the side everything I tell them about Catholicism.
musturde
I have to say this again Non denomination is a denomination in a sense . By the way, Pontius Pilot didn't want anything to do with Jesus, he even wrote on the cross INRI. Even if the Romans did kill him that was a long time ago before christian leaders started kicking it in and ruling. So even if they did do it they were Pagans (at least some were ) Now if they still argue say "Since you are protestant you came from my religion right? Which means that if my religion killed them so did yours."
ironmonk
I'm interested...what are some of the sins that some of these denoms are enslaved by? Could be any number of things... Fornication, adultery, homosexuality, contraception, abortion, etc... King Henry would be a good example, he was Catholic, could not get an annullment, so he left the Church.... the man had issues. It's sad, but a lot of people I know go to "find a church that believes what they do", instead of seeking the truth and changing for God, they seek to "change God" for them. Many people are confused where to look... I would like to think that many people are sincere.... but many people cannot give real solid reasons for believe what they believe to be true about Christ. Christ came to earth 2000 years ago, not 10,000 years... there are thousands of writings that date back to the 1st century that show us what the truth is.... most people don't realize they could start there. 1 Peter 3:15 but sanctify Christ as Lord in your hearts. Always be ready to give an explanation to anyone who asks you for a reason for your hope, We should be able to give explination for our beliefs. The way I saw it when I was 15 after reading the bible a few times and it being obvious that unity was a big key, with so many "Christian" churches, I needed to find the first one... So I started studying the history of Christianity. Low and behold, I found that the Catholic Church was the Church built by Christ... I was already Catholic, but my knowledge of Catholic teachings was very poor.... but my knowledge of Scripture was strong... I was without the Eucharist, and Reconciliation up until about 3 years ago... Thank God for the internet and a few anti-Catholics that asked me questions that I didn't know and I had to find, my knowledge has grown greatly since. My faith grows stronger with every day. I remember more and learn more everytime that I dialog... I take a lot of notes, and go over them often. God Bless, Love in Chirst & Mary ironmonk
