I pay VERY close attention to that.
It is really tough sitting through an abusive Mass. I'm sure Jesus is miserable with such lukewarmness. Well, misery loves company, just ask Simon of Cyrene.
Fifth Station Simon of Cyrene helps Jesus to carry His Cross. V. We adore Thee, O Christ, and we praise Thee, R. Because by Thy holy cross Thou hast redeemed the world. Priest: Simon of Cyrene was compelled to help Jesus carry His cross, and Jesus accepted his assistance. How willingly would He also permit you to carry the cross: He calls, but you hear Him not; He invites you, but you decline. What a reproach, to bear the cross reluctantly! People: O Jesus! Whosoever does not take up his cross and follow Thee, is not worthy of Thee. Behold, I join Thee in the Way of Thy Cross; I will be Thy assistant, following Thy bloody footsteps, that I may come to Thee in eternal life. Our Father. Hail Mary. Glory Be. V. Lord Jesus, crucified, R. Have mercy on us!
Edited October 21, 2007 by Dismas
Justin86
Well, I went to Mass this evening at Kadena, and just got home. Let me tell you it was quite a trip! I think God told me alot during Mass though. The homily was of course on the Gospel reading. The priest reminded us that while God of course cares about our problems He's not going to fix them for us. We have to do our part to fix them our selves. It made me think that maybe I was a bit harsh in assuming the priest at my Camp already had complaints and just didn't care. I've decided to talk to him about it next Sunday. If he still insists in doing this, I will go to the priest over at Kadena and see if perhaps he can talk some sense into this guy. Perhaps this can be settled priest-to-priest before I take it to the diocesan level. It also reminded me over really, what I should be doing in virtually all of my spiritual problems. Basicly, I had an eye-opening experience. Thank you everyone for the counsel you gave me. I should've seen that I was supposed to have compassion on my Lord at Mass over this abuse before. Thank you for helping me realize this.
