marccatholic
I knew about the catholic catechism that there is One God, in three persons, having equal power,wisdom,etc...This is the teaching of the catholic church that they are the same and equal. However, i really dont understand it fully even if i have readings about it. There was a question of a non-catholic which asked the stand of Jesus to be equal to the Father. It was also stated there that Jesus admitted that the Father is greater than Him.In terms of what?I just cant locate the verse but i read it. Could someone help me in answering this allegation? Is Christ a less God to the Father? Thanks!
Thy Geekdom Come
http://www.phatmass.com/phorum/index.php?s...t&p=1175016 I hope this helps. If it helps you at all to understand the Trinity a little better, hopefully it should help you see how Jesus is God and man without there being any contradiction. As for Jesus saying the Father was greater, I don't think He was meaning to make a statement about their natures, but about their roles. The Father is not greater in the sense of being more powerful or anything like that, but because Jesus, as the Son, gives Himself over to the Father (and also gives us over to the Father, as we see that He will hand over His Kingdom to His Father in the end). Jesus is always concerned with increasing His Father's glory. God bless, Micah
