Wow some people take everything seriously.

Yeah, I really want to kill everyone who isn't Catholic.
I knew you were kidding when you said that and I still thought it was not a very prudent thing to say.
Same thing with calling someone who lives a life of sin a "pagan." I think "poor sinner" the term Our Lady has used in several apparitions is more appropriate. Of course, there are people who practice witchcraft, in which case, "pagan" is appropriate.
The Catholic Church has always defined "pagan" as a person who has never been baptized. That's all it means. Technically, it has nothing to do with New Age practices or anything like that. There are some churches that claim to be Christian but do not baptize at all. Even someone from one of those churches accepts Jesus as their Personal Lord & Savior, they are still, technically, pagans according to the Catholic Church.

When Our Lady refers to "poor sinners" I don't think she was referring to any specific group (baptised vs. unbaptised) but all people who do not posses sanctifying grace. Plus, referring to pagans/non-Christians as "poor sinners" doesn't sound all that nice either, because that term should apply to everyone, not just the unbaptised.
Most Protestants are baptised but are not baptised Catholic. We never believe in papal infallibility to begin with.

Do I mean nothing to you people? Do I not matter? Am I invisible? Or was this for very mean spirited Protestants? Do you only count really doctrinally argumentitive Protestants?

Your token Prot.

P.S. Yes, I admit that I do come and go a bit.
I think you matter and I'm glad you're here :)
We have to remember also that language usage changes over time. For example, we wouldn't say that our happy friend was "gay" anymore, even if the formal definition still fits. Neither do we use the term "illegitimate children.." rather we say children born into single parent families or something else that describes the situation without compromising the dignity of the child. Since Vatican II, the CC has used the term "separated brethren" to describe our Protestant brothers and sisters. Considering that the term "heretic" sounds so harsh, and considering that most Protestants today would be taken aback, we should not use it. If we are going to call anyone a "heretic" we should start with the dissenting Clergy within our own Church.
Excellent point. I was just thinking about similar examples before I read what you wrote. The Church is well aware of this and, hence, why VII uses the polite language it does.
I would love to have an honest discussion with a non-Catholic again. I'm afraid they've forgotten us.
You can always join me over at Relevant Magazine. Phatcatholic was there for a short time, but I imagine he didn't have time to keep up with the threads. Active threads there get long in a hurry if you don't keep up once or twice a day.
I think the world should only be divided into two groups: Catholic and non-Catholic. Non-Catholics should be killed. The world would be alot simpler.
So you are in the non-catholic group, correct?

Darnit, that means I have to be killed. Oh well, as long as the world gets simpler. I'm willing to die for that belief.

I'm not a Protestant, But I'm LDS. And I do still pop in here from time to time; I just haven't as much since the semester started. Not that I was ever a terribly prolific poster in the first place...

And for the record, I laughed at the thread title.
Wow, I have to be quite literal with you.

I meant say it and actually mean it, obviously.

Do you have any sense of sacrasm whatsoever?
Don't talk to me like I'm an idiot. Sarcasm is the lowest form of wit, especially when executed poorly.

I just don't like this type of attitude. Maybe if you looked at his other posts too, you'd get my drift. I recall one post when he called Frecnh people 'pr****'. Lovely.

Anyway, I'm done.

....How offensive can this thread get? :ohno:

There are actually Protestants/separated brethren here who are actively seeking the Church. Have a little respect...
