We don't have nearly as many Protestants as we used to, HD. They must have gotten bored or something. Of course, we had one, but she was so constantly getting suspended I think she was very nearly banned this last time. I would love to have an honest discussion with a non-Catholic again. I'm afraid they've forgotten us.

hyperdulia again
I (He Raph, not she ) prefer the word used for most of the last five centuries: heretic. I do however recognize how problematic it is in forging Christian unity.

brendan1104
Heretics? Schismatics? Yep. We also have pagans and apostates.

friendofJPII
IMO, a heretic is someone who is Catholic and openly dissents. Sr. Joan C. is a heretic. Joe, my Protestant friend, is not.

Many non-Catholics in this day and age, therefore, are probably not formal heretics, but only material heretics (meaning that they are unintentionally heretical, but not "heretics" in the popular sense of the word). beata_virgo_maria
This just seems a bit mean spirited. Not asking if there are any people who are Protestant, but uncharitable way in which a few posts seem to be going. jeffpugh
I'll try and get my Pentecostal friend back on (Heshmafluff). He only did one topic, which was on Mary, and he found how "stubborn" Catholics were. I guess I wasn't doing my job by putting up enough of a fight...but I think he's avoiding Catholicism a bit... doen't want to know too much... you know... XIX
I think we still have dairygirl4u2c. And technically speaking, I think you have to claim to be Catholic and then teach heresies to be considered a heretic yourself.
jeffpugh
Yeah, we still got Dairygirl on board. She and I were chatting it up on the debate board a couple of days ago. We have a few other protestants who just call themselves "Christians". It's interesting how many have not even heard of the term before. One of my proddy friends who is a "Bretheren" (whatever that is. Goes to a Bible chapel), never heard the term until I brought him to my diocesan youth festival a couple years back. I think he had a good time somewhat, but he wasn't too comfortable about the situation... anywho tangent... I'll try to bring more on.
brendan1104
Nope.
