photosynthesis
My favorite part is the scene where the monk sings the "Salve Regina" to the cow

There are other monks in a remote part of Scotland, the Benedictines of Pluscarden, who are renowned for their simplicity and austerity and who are in good standing of the Church. Just in case anybody on PM is thinking of fleeing to the wilds of Scotland, Pluscarden would be a good place to look.
I have a non-PM friend who is planning to do just that for a couple weeks soon. Of course, the fact that he is already in Edinburgh makes the escape a bit easier. I have another friend between Glasgow and Edinburg that I am trying to nudge into going there for a week's retreat there. I think the silence and solitude would be great for her. brendan1104
Yep, they're SSPX-associated. They were founded (or re-founded) with approval of Edouard Cardinal Gagnon, archbishop of Montreal and visitator from Rome. Ejames is referring to the founder of the Society of St. Josaphat, a traditional Ukranian rite community also associated with SSPX.

They now call themselves the Sons of the Most Holy Redeemer to differentiate themselves from the Redemptorists proper.

laetitia crucis
"They're out to get me." I love it! The whole video is great, and wow, what an intense prayer life these monks lead! I couldn't imagine three additional hours of mental prayer before going to bed at night. Just amazing. (And they are so well balanced in their joy!)
