I don't think they've had any problems. Germany, however, is notoriously anti-homeschooling.
The Nazi regime instituted their anti-homeschooling laws. They just weren't enforced until recently... It seems like Germany is in a race with the Netherlands to see who can be the most depraved nation on earth the quickest... Lounge Daddy
And this is ironic in a country that is now so p.c. that any opposition to immigration is censored as "Nazi-like." Totalitarianism at its finest - first the Nazis, then the Commies, now this - some things never change . . .
Absolutely. Indeed, what is happening when a country like Germany is citing the Koran in court decisions and then treating Christian homeschoolers as a threat? Something is wrong - and spreading throughout Europe. Learn from history or be doomed to repeat it.

Jesus_lol
thats pretty bad for the germans who do want to homeschool. but it also brings up a question, if you intend to homeschool your children, and you know that germany has laws against it, why would you move to germany? i am legal drinking age here in BC(19), but i dont go to the USA(age is 21) and drink alchohol, because there it would be against the law. and just because i think that law is stupid, doesnt mean i get to go over to your country and break it. just a thought
homeschoolmom
Well, I'll use my friends in Croatia as an example... They are not Croatian citizens. They are there on a job-related visa. In this case, the Croatian government doesn't care where their kids go to school. They still report to their school district here in the US. I'm sure that is what the missionary family working in Germany expected as well. That is usually what is done for non-citizens.
Jesus_lol
well, dont most people check what the schools/and or regulations are in a place the plan to move to, even if its only one state over? seems a little silly to get there without having researched it at least a bit, especially if germany seems to have a reputation for not liking homeschooling? not exactly a new law either. im not saying that germany is right to do all of this, but its not entirley because of them that some of these families are in that position.
