Dream Catchers...

Hello,

I've been wondering as to the hanging of dream catchers. To my understanding it's either a pagan or new age thing, so, can one hang them up, I mean, as an ornament? However, when let's say kids receive reassurance from them etc, does this not amount to leading them to superstition? Not that I have kids of my own, lol - I'm 17.

Thanks and God bless,

Thanks and God bless,[/quote]You are correct. Dreamcatchers are pagan/new-age things and not for Christians. I don't feel that it is appropriate to have one for decoration either, b/c when people see it in your home they may be lead to believe that you attribute some power to it or that it is ok for a Christian to use one. Children only come to find reassurance in dreamcatchers b/c adults tell them that these things will protect them. We should dispel such myths and attribute no spiritual benefit to any pagan thing. Our children should find solace in their guardian angel, and in the intercession of the saints --not in dreamcatchers.
