that is so repulsive. even though it certainly won't get passed, i can't believe what our country is comng to that that would even be considered.

besides it being so immoral and wrong, its just dumb and hypocritical. it shows even more the hypocrisy of the pro-aborts- after all aren't women supposed to choose what to do... [using their own slogan against them]

I think it's a good idea. In today's world, there is no reason to have huge family's. May I remind everyone on how many kids are forced to wear clothes that are worn and sleep in the same bed as their siblings because their parents can't financially support them.

How do you find time to spend quality time with your kids when you have to work long and hard enough to cloth and feed all of them. A child needs BOTH parents. I think too many people have alot of kids because they use it as an excuse to have sex. Use conceptives, that is what their for!

there will always be a reason to have big families. as long as there is a reason to love in this world there is!.......children are a blessing, a gift. LIFE is the most precious gift that God and parents can give to their children.

contraceptives im afraid do not do this. it is selfish act that is not at all what God intended when he said be fruitful and mulitply. contraceptives leave no room for children nor love. and when we close that door, that shall lead us to love more than anything can measure, is placing ourselves in harms way of never fully loving as we should. loving isnt' taking, its giving.

the gift of LIFE and children are what we all should welcome. for children stand for LIFE, their the image of LOVE and the meaning of GIVING. and it is in the children that we are truly able to LOVE in its fullest sense and truest sense and learn the meaning of sacrifice and giving without measures!

i have many friends who have everything in the world but the thing they want most of all......a brother or sister.

they rather have nothing and have a sibling, than have everything and no one to share and grow in LIFE with.

many times we lose focus on what love is, may we always look towards the most powerful image we have....the crucifix. the ultimate sacrifice and love for another, to give up one's life.

I've heard of other politicians who promote ideas like this. This kind of thinking is much more prevailant in our country than we think. There are high up people in our government who praise China's one child policy!!

It's so idiodic too because the way things are going now we are going to have too many old people for social security to handle because there aren't enough new people being born to pick up the slack.. Oh yeah, they already thought of that, that's why we need euthanasia!

Unbreakable, I think those are some of the most ignorant comments I've heard in a long time. I take personal insult to the things you've stated. I am the second oldest child of 12. Count 'em, TWELVE kids. We are all tremendously loved and cared for. My parents aren't filthy rich, but we never walked around in rags, we were't piled 6 kids in one bed. We all had our own beds, sure we shared rooms, but big deal. Thats NORMAL. If people cannot financially support their kids then they should refrain from having them until they are more stable and able to support a family. (Thats pretty much plain common sense.) But sometimes it just doesn't work out that way. Your comment about using kids as an excuse to have sex is ridiculous. There are plenty of non-fertile days during the month when a woman will not conceive that a couple can have sex almost whenever they want.

And its not just that my family is the exception to the rule. My husband is the 7th child of a family of 11 kids. I have several other friends who have 4+ siblings. We are fortunate, just absolutely BLESSED, to have large families. I pity people like you, Unbreakable, who don't realize that.

The irony is that a population needs to average over two children per family in order to sustain the population. If not for immigration in this country we would be in the same boat as most of Europe with shrinking populations.
