  • 2 months later...

wow no replies? Anyway.. its been an asbolutly crazy year in College football, many many many Upsets, including Appalation State over Michigan, and Stanford over USC.. The top 2 ranked teams going in to this final week are Mizzouri and West Virginia.. if one of them loses, a team i thought was totally out of it when they lost to Illinois, would get in.. THE Ohio State Buckeyes :) If they both lose.. a TWO loss team might end up being in the Title game!

I wont go into how miserable of a season it has been for Notre Dame.

I don't care if Pitt smells of elderberries. I don't care if WVU is #1 or 2. Pitt must win.[/quote]

YEAH! go PITT! Oh my goodness this game is making me so nervous. And I'm not even watching it, just the gamecast on espn.com. This can't get Pitt anywhere, as we're 4-7, but it would be ETERNAL bragging rights over WVU. Not to mention a national championship game spot for OSU.

Wow. Wow. Wow.

#1 and #2 are going down on the final day of the regular season, it looks like. Unless Mizzou comes back, it'll be Ohio St. vs.

LSU
Georgia
Va-Tech
Kansas

All two-loss teams except for Kansas, which should arguably finish behind Mizzou for losing head to head against them. Ohio St. gets in by not playing for the final three weeks of the season. More power to them, but if this isn't an indictment of the BCS, then I don't know what is. We so obviously need a playoff system.

A playoff system won't happen, several of the big bowl games *cough*RoseBowl*cough* are way too traditional when it comes to the conference ties they want to keep. A final poll and BCS ranking at the end of all the bowls with a +1 game between #1 and #2 would honestly be the best we could hope for. That would take the bowl season into the 2nd week of January but give a better picture of who is really #1.

I don't think Va-Tech will make it into the title game above LSU (LSU thumped them pretty good when they played this year) but I think that it'll come down to LSU/Georgia. Nobody really believes that Kansas can compete with the other schools mentioned here, I hate to say it was a fluke that they are ranked where they are, but they played nobody, then lost to Mizzou (who got lit up by OK).

wow wow wow.. that was just.. i don't know what to call it.

Its going to be Ohio State vs an opponent to be named tomorrow.. most likely LSU. Dispite the weak schedule, i would want undefeated Hawaii in there over any 2 Loss team. I mean Ohio State's shcedule wasnt that great either and they are #1 and they lost a game! so why not Hawaii?

UCLA lost today. that was expected of course. and they are not my team. Notre Dame is. however, i have always liked them more than USC who i will never be a fan of. i really wanted SC to lose today :(
