Good points Raphael:

From my own experience though as I actually have been shown about the near death experience and how this widespread phenomena almost certainly fits perfectly with scriputre I became somewhat less dogmatic in my understanding of scripture and more able to understand points being made by somebody who I would have tended to argue more vehemently with twenty years ago.
