Nostradamus

I know the writings of Nostradamus have been condemned by the Church. Well, here's something I read that maybe y'all don't know (Source: Unity Publishing):

Michel de Nostredame, better known as Nostradamus, was born of Jewish parents, but because of the Edict of King Louis XII in 1501, his mother and father were forced to become Catholic. He was baptized and became a doctor and alchemist. He studied magic and the occult at the great Avignon library.

In Avignon he became friends with the Grand Master of the Knights of St. John [later called the Knights of Malta]. They were the keepers of the great treasures of the Church, including the books of the prophets.

Nostradamus copied these books, rewrote them in apocalyptic language and passed them off as his own. By the use of this plagiarism, he became famous in his own day and influenced kings and queens. He is reported to have hated the Virgin Mary, whom he thought of as a demon, and to have been friends with Calvin.

I always thought he was a bit strange. Another thing that kinda sets me off about Nostradamus is the fact that he thought that he could prophesy. That's just wrong. It's sad too! :(

if his hatred of the bvm had been public enough for unity publishing to know so, he would never have had the confidence of catherine de medicis..

Of course he plagarized the Bible... he was odd. Who in the world could despise the Virgin Mary? That's just not only wrong, but disturbing. To think that he was a "practicing" Catholic and hated the Blessed Mother is just bizzare. I think it's really disturbing.

Secondly, Nostradamus shares the name with Notre Dame... both proclaiming Our Lady in French and in Latin. As disturbing as it is, he in turn hated the Virgin Mary, but yet shared her title in his surname. Now that is even more disturbing.

Creeped out,

In Desperate Need of Praying,

In Christ,

Andy

The Jews were required to become Catholic and assume lastnames a generation or so before Nostradamus...No name says Catholic like "Our Lady."
