Desperate Prayers Needed

prose

Recommended Posts

A close friend of ours had her water break today. The doctor says if she can't keep the baby in for at least one more week, that it will not survive.

Please pray. The baby isn't due for 3 months.

Prayers for the mother and her baby!

But, please, if the baby doesn't do well, make sure to either baptize him or her yourself or call a priest and have him baptize him or her quickly!

Here are the instructions from the Baltimore Catechism about emergency Baptism:
Pour common water on the head or face of the person to be baptized, and say while pouring it: "I baptize thee in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost."

N. B. Any person of either sex who has reached the use of reason can baptize in case of necessity.
1. I will not be there.

2. It is none of my business anyways.

3. They are faithful Catholics. I am sure they have thought about baptism already and don't need my two cents at this time of crisis.

I will pray most definitely.

It is a good idea to ask Our Lady of Walsingham to intercede for this family. The mother of my friend E (farglefeezlebut on PM) kept having miscarriages and was told that she would never conceive. She asked for the intercession of Our Lady of Walsingham, and now she has six children. There is no better midwife to ask in for this baby than the Queen of Families. :)

Also...there was a news story recently about a baby who was born at twenty-two weeks. She has survived, even though she was no longer than a ballpoint pen at birth. I don't want to raise up false hope. But this may be some comfort to you, even if you don't feel able to share it with your friend.

the family has my prayers for sure
Bump again.

And St. Gianna Beretta Molla, too! (St. Gerard was my first thought when I read this thread.)
