EcceNovaFacioOmni
Is there an apologetics form for use in debates with a non-Christian?
Laudate_Dominum
I'm not sure I know what you mean... There are certainly different approaches for sharing the Catholic Faith with non-christians. I don't know if there is one approach that works for all. You would focus on different things and discuss different points depending on where the person is at. Maybe I don't understand what you're asking?
EcceNovaFacioOmni
Is there a way to say, prove that a non-Christian religion is wrong without use of the Bible?
cmotherofpirl
You don't have to prove them wrong, but that God is right. Get a copy of Handbook for Christian Apologetics by Kreeft and Tacelli. It neatly lays out 21 arguements for the existance of God, without reference to the Bible. It is a must havbe to dialogue wit non-christians. Also use your copy of Mere Christianity by C.S. Lewis. phatcatholic
yea, i agree w/ cmom. i would also add this. if this person is a non-christian, then that probably means he/she does not believe in God. therefore, one would start by proving the existence of God. the materials cmom suggested are helpful, as well as this article, which we have seen firsthand at phatmass to be an effective tool. once they accept that there is a God, then u can teach them about the great aspects of God. i suppose one could work from the other end as well, by proving that whatever they believe is faulty, ephemeral, finite, and pales in comparison to the God that you know and love. then, u would be selling them the aspects of God first--aspects that only God can provide--and then once they have a longing for those things, then u would just prove that they are real, and that the God from whence they come is real as well. hope this helps........pax christi, phatcatholic

Laudate_Dominum
Yeah, I agree that is probably the best approach. Witness to the truth and beauty of the Catholic faith rather than trying to debunk their religion. That would make them defensive and closed off anyway. Although there is a time and place for everything. Remember that you want to bring them to Christ, they will not truly convert if they do not encounter the love of Jesus Christ. Our faith is based "not on the wisdom and eloquence of men, but on the power of God".
