I thought I liked it, but that was before I found out that they overheat and you have to wait 30 minutes for them to cool down and start all over again![/quote]
arghh ... that would get frustrating.

So really, you need two sharpeners ... which I'm guessing is not likely to come your way. :ohno:

Mine are always still there when I hit the back button on the browser, as long as I've done it in the add reply box. Not always in fast reply, but sometimes.

This thread is a complete joke and couldn't be more wrong, especially in its title. LOL

No matter what the situation.....If *anyone* has a problem in their student's classroom, before calling their teachers thieves and say their stealing, please go talk to them people!

Instead of sitting back speculating and calling it socialism.

I am positive the teacher has a reason or answer for any concerns and will be so happy to modify whatever their doing to fit your needs and fix your concerns! Problem solved. :)

When I went the school, the only thing we brought that was shared were boxes of Kleenix. I don't think it would be feasable to require each student to bring $25 for a general "school supply" fund, something along the lines of free public education. In high school, some student's parents got the idea of whining about a $20 or so "locker fee" that was required by every student. The school happily repealed the locker fee, only to raise the parking lot pass fee by $40 or so.

It depends on the state.

I read some of the discussions that took place in Indiana about the time public school systems were put in place, and some of it is pretty surprising. It was a fight to get public schools at all, and most people were willing to concede that if parents were going to get the benefit of "free" education for their students (we do pay for it in taxes, after all) that they should be able to pony up for the cost of supplies and textbooks. So, we had to pay a textbook fee in Indiana; I'm not sure if this is the case in other states or not. In a state where you could charge for textbooks, it would seem reasonable to be able to charge for things like pencils and papers as well, with the proper waivers in place for students who truly could not afford them.
