Aloysius
alright, #1 if you haven't seen the plan in Open Mic, the "Feature Debate" is intended to produce a fruitful charitable debate to be put in the reading room "Debates phrom the Phorum." Maybe Foundsheep'll pin this and he said he'd keep an eye on it. NO DISPUTING ANY DELETES. Post here running the risk that anything can be deleted for any reason and you can't argue it. it's gonna be kept ON TOPIC, CHARITABLE, and CLEAN, by any means necessary. okay, i'll get the ball rolling. After Jesus asked the Apostles who He was, St. Peter replied "Thou art the Christ, the Son of the Living God" and Jesus said "Blessed are you, Simon, son of John, for flesh and blood have not revealed this to you but my Father in Heaven. And I say to you you are Peter and upon this Peter i will build my Church" so when Peter speaks something that Flesh and Blood haven't revealed to him, but the Father in heaven has revealed to him, he is rock. This seems like he's got some authority here, not because of his own flesh and blood sinful nature as all popes have, but because when he teaches the Church the Father holds him to speak only truth. so after he proclaims something as rock, he is given keys to the kingdom of heaven. These keys are symbolic of the keys in all ancient kingdoms, He has the keys to the city so he is the Prime Minister of the city. This is the way ancient kingdoms worked. There were ministers appointed by the king and the Prime Minister held the keys. And then the other apostles get the keys... hmm... are we seeing something here? the apostles being commisioned as the ministers of the earthly kingdom? not minister as in protestant version of priest, but minister in the sense of the ancient kingdoms. There was a king, and then there was a prime minister and other ministers to take care of things the king didn't personally concern himself with, but gave ppl he trusted to deal with such things the keys. so, the 12 Apostles have authority. this 1st must be established before Apostolic Succesion is to be adressed. what say ye?
