thessalonian
We have hit a new low, 21 milloin awarded to a couple because their baby's deformity was not detected so they could not have the optoin of abortion. http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1870682/posts "The couple claimed that Dr. Boris Kousseff failed to diagnose their first son's genetic disorder, called Smith-Lemli-Opitz syndrome, which is the inability to correctly produce or synthesize cholesterol, after his 2002 birth. Had the disorder been correctly diagnosed, a test would have indicated whether the couple's second child also was afflicted and they would have terminated the pregnancy, according to the lawsuit." Very sad.

thessalonian
This is going to push doctors toward leaning on the side of "caution" in worrying about getting sued. Abortions for defects are likely to increase alot.

Ash Wednesday
That is very sad. I wonder how the kid is going to feel? By the way I saw this on postsecret today: "I've hidden my aborted fetus under a bag of peas in the freezer. My roommates might freak. (I'm waiting to bury it.)" I can't imagine how hurt the child is going to be in learning how and why the parents ended up with $21 million dollars. This is sick... really sick. Archaeology cat
Yeah, I saw this. It's just horrible. And it's probably quite true that abortions for defects will rise in FL because of this. It's already really tough for doctors there in regards to malpractice suits and all that, at least from what I hear.

The next step on the depravity scale is to allow the life to be terminated after birth because it should not have been here in the first place, according to the logic they will use. As I understand it this is already happening in the Netherlands where the handicapped are allowed to be killed by doctors two years after birth.
