Actually, I wasn't.

Maybe you should develop your reading comprehension skills.

This is why I have liberalinsd on "ignore."

He obviously has zero interest in logical debate, but only in flaming and trying to piss people off.

And all you seem to be able to do is bash liberals.

"It takes a village to raise a child" is only true if you want a wild unruly child.

The child's personality foundation is developed during the first five years of life... the village shouldn't be near the child during these vital years. The village has a mob mentality... easily swayed by lies... just look at how many people believed Michael Moore. Mob mentallity is never a good thing to put a child into.

"It takes a village to raise a child" saying comes from a small tribe from somewhere like Africa... a tribe of like 30 people, so that village is pretty much family... cousins and distant cousins... This saying is not a wise saying... it's coming from a group of people that have lived the same way for thousands of years without innovation... not to mention, the village only had 30ish people. The statement is nonsense for a village of 50,000... even for 1,000.... the village statement is true if you live in a village of 30 and have to worry about lions or crocodiles eating your kids.

It takes a good Catholic mother and good Catholic father with the help of God to raise a child right.

If you were not raised Catholic, then yes. I was not raised correctly... I was not raised in the Church - I was baptised and went to two years and three months of Catholic school.... I thank God that I found the truth during high school.

The correct way to raise a child is as a Catholic the way that the Church has been teaching for two thousand years.

Think about it.

What is "correct"?

Correct is what God wants. God wants man in His Church worshipping Him the way He wants us to.

Just because some people are not raised correctly does not mean anything about the way they are today. There are many proofs to that.

LOL... but that's not the context my dear ;)

The saying comes from a small tribe that their children could have been dinner for wild animals.

One could look at it as for parents to be good Catholics they need a parish to go to but that is a bit indirect :P

but my point is that the saying does have SOME merit despite its twisting by socialist rhetoric. we aren't islands, God made us to live in community, we NEED it, and thus, in a sense, it does take a village. not a secular, government big brother village, but a family-oriented, Catholic community village.

all i'm saying is, don't throw the baby out with the bathwater!

So how did this get bumped up? Anywho... ahem...

This is a political thread. It will be moved to the political board (or the lameboard, depending on the nearest Mod's sense of humour).

Swarthily,

A friendly neighbourhood Church Militant and Lame Board crew-member.
